Pastor MikeSenior Pastor, Mike Lowrey, is a native of the Washington DC area. Married to Kathy, they have two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer, two son-laws, Vince and Ryan, and four grandchildren. Mike was a professional builder until 1994 when he left his business to take a staff position as Associate Pastor of a 1200 member church. In 2004 Mike and a group of people who saw the need for a different style of church opened Rock Spring in a public school.
Mike has often felt that church does not connect with people on a real level. Sometimes church can give the impression that people need to be at a certain place, stop certain activities, or achieve a level of knowledge before they can begin a relationship with God.

“It’s time the church stops trying to change people and help them understand what God is trying to do in their lives. I want Rock Spring to help people understand the why and watch people choose to let God impact their life.”

Mike has attended Luther Rice Seminary, is a certified church planter through the North American Mission Board, is affiliated with American Association of Christian Counselors, and a certified instructor with PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program).
