Some of the items to be sold are: clothes, books, home interior, Christmas decorations, tools, housewares, and much, much more. Anyone who would like to donate or bake anything please contact Kelli Kramer at 304-283-9953. All proceeds will benefit the Rock Spring Paving Fund.

Rock Spring Church is hosting our first Annual Ministry Fair. This is an opportunity for those who are newer to Rock Spring or those looking to become more involved. You will have opportunities to connect with all of the ministries and programs of our church and find out how to get involved—to participate, or to serve.

The fair will be held after each service. The first service will end early to create plenty of space for conversation. Each ministry will be represented at various tables spread throughout the lobby area.

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say Rejoice(Phil 4:4). What does this mean for our lives?  Rejoicing in the Lord always is not always the easiest task…for we are so easily swayed by our life circumstances and things that pull us in many different directions.   We often strive for happiness and fulfillment in earthly things and don’t realize that TRUE JOY is not found in earthly things but is found in our eternal relationship with God.  We only experience true joy when we strive to seek God, serve God, and worship God even when we are in the trenches.  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to  give you a hope and a future.” (Jer 29:11)  He loves us – so rejoice!  We have an eternity in Him – so rejoice!  These things and many more fuel me to praise him with my life, my time and talents.

Join me and the Rock Spring Worship Team for an evening packed full of passionate and intimate praise and worship.  This will be an evening of connecting and learning to encounter the presence of God through lifting our voices to Him.

The Power of Prayer to Change Your Marriage

This fourteen (14) week interactive study features personal assignments and weekly group sessions.

Time:  6:45 PM – 8:45 PM

Place:  Rock Spring Church – Teen Room #112

Cost:  $15.00 per person.  The prayer and study guide provided free of cost.

There will be no child care.  To attend this class, a sign up sheet is in the lobby next to the Welcome Center or indicate on your 411 Link Card and place in offering basket.  The Book and study materials are available when you sign up.  Book pick up is no later than September 5, 2010.

Are you new to Rock Spring?  Come to Inside Rock Spring where we will provide a 30 minute overview of our mission and strategy and help you determine your next step.  Inside Rock Spring is a must-attend for those who really want to be a part of the Rock Spring family.  The second part of our time together will be open to any questions you may have as well as an opportunity for those who want to become members to join Rock Spring.

Are you wondering about God, Jesus, or the Bible?  Why not check out Starting Point.  If you have questions about the Christian faith, you are a new Christian, or you’re returning to church for the first time in years, this ten week class is designed just for you.

You will receive the Starting Point Conversation Guide which is a 128-page, full color guide for Starting Point participants. It includes articles, exercises, and questions designed to facilitate the Starting Point experience. Also included are five compact discs with audio messages by Andy Stanley and Louie Giglio.

We have received great questions for the “I Doubt It” series.  Pastor Mike and Pastor Gloria will try to answer most of them during the sermons, however, several people have questions that they did not submit.  Therefore, we will be hosting an “I Doubt It” class, which will be 5 weeks in length; this will give everyone with questions the opportunity to get the answers they are looking for.

The class will begin Wednesday, September 22, and will run through October, 20, 2010.  Open to all, no childcare.  Any questions contact Pastor Gloria , 304-886-5361.

With its focus on understanding the inner lives of men, the primary application of For Women Only:  The Bible Study is marriage.  Yet what women would not wish for such help before marriage?  Many of the principles can apply to women who are dating or who relate daily to their male co-workers in the workplace.

A Ladies book club is forming for women 18 yrs or older, who love to read.  The first book will be “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert.  If you would like to participate, obtain your copy of the book and enjoy a good read.  Our first meeting will be on, Tuesesday, August 31st, @ 6:30 PM, in the Rock Spring Lobby area where we will discuss the book and have a genuinely good time!  A planned outing to the movie of the same title, starring Julia Roberts is underway for Friday, August 27th.
